College of Professional and Continuing Studies Celebrates Inaugural Graduating Class

STARKVILLE, Miss. — On Dec. 8, students from the Bachelor of Applied Science program walked the stage at Humphrey Coliseum, marking a historic moment as the first graduating class of Mississippi State University’s College of Professional and Continuing Studies.

The ceremony showcased the dedication and academic achievements of over 40 students who completed the academic requirements for graduation. The event celebrated individual accomplishments and underscored the new college’s commitment to providing accessible, high-quality education tailored for the real-world demands of non-traditional students. Susan Seal, dean of the College of Professional and Continuing Studies, addressed graduates in a congratulatory video.

“Our world is dynamic and constantly changing. However, armed with the knowledge, skills, and adaptability cultivated through online education, you are well-equipped to thrive. Your ability to navigate the digital landscape has not only prepared you for the workforce but has positioned you as leaders in an era defined by innovation and technological advancement,” Seal said.

As Mississippi State University continues to expand its offerings and empower students with relevant, career-focused education, the College of Professional and Continuing Studies remains a trailblazer in delivering quality programs that address the evolving needs of the workforce. The college houses several departments, including Mississippi State Online, Continuing Education, and the Bachelor of Applied Science program.
